STRYKE and QuickBooks Online
QuickBooks Online keeps the books beside the ERP in many shops STRYKE serves. An admin signs in at Intuit and picks the company; from then on STRYKE enters vendor invoices as Bills with the PDF attached, shipments as Invoices and customer payments against them.
How the connection works
Intuit's own sign-in, not keys.
- An admin signs in at Intuit and picks the company; STRYKE never sees the password
- STRYKE is connected to that one company; a company already connected to another STRYKE shop is refused
- Before each Bill, Invoice or Payment, STRYKE asks QuickBooks Online whether it is already there
What a PO becomes in QuickBooks Online
The books' side of each document.
- A vendor invoice becomes a Bill, matched first to the PO and receiver in your ERP, with the PDF attached
- A shipment becomes an Invoice to the customer
- A remittance becomes a Payment applied line by line; a short pay leaves the deduction open on the invoice, never written off
- A customer PO never goes to QuickBooks Online: it is an ERP document
What to have ready
What whoever keeps the books will need.
- An admin who can sign in at Intuit
- The company to pick, when the sign-in has more than one
- The accounts STRYKE should use for Bills, chosen once in Settings › Connections
Read the vendor's own pages
Intuit publishes these; they are its pages, not ours.
